Our Blog - Domaine Rochemontès

We saw a flyer for an event called "Rendez-vous aux Jardins", organized by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. One of the events was a bit North of Toulouse at the Domaine de Rochemontès. For this "18th Century Day", you could go through the domaine (although the Chateau remained closed) and they had various programs throughout the day. This included guided tours of the park by the actual owner and people with period clothing and dance.

We'll start with the Domaine itself. The Chateau and the park overlooks the Garonne River. The estate has been in the same family for three centuries. It consists of a complex of buildings dating from the 17th and 18th centuries surrounded by 9 hectares of parks. The Orangerie (which we didn't visit) is popular today for weddings. The 3-story large brick Chateau, sitting on the banks of the Garonne, has 4 towers and a French garden.

Now the period costumes, and a little bit of a fashion show.
