Our Blog - Bretagne Trip - Summer 2021 - Plouhinec, France

We had driven through Plouhinec several times heading to other towns and it had looked somewhat interesting. However, when we got there on a Monday at lunchtime, we realized that there really isn't that much to do or see in town. We went through the church (of course), which was a little interesting itself.

The church is called Notre Dame de Grace and was built between 1870 to 1873. It is an imposing neo-Gothic style church that dominates the village. It replaced the previous 12th century town church.

Once inside, you can clearly see the gothic arches on both sides of the nave (separating the nave from the side aisles) and the ribbed vaults of the ceiling.

I thought the carved wooden pulpit was one of the nicer ones we've seen on this trip. The detail in the panels was really wonderful

The stained glass windows at the choir seemed fairly modern, but I wasn't able to get very close to them.
