Our Blog - August 2025 - England trip - Emmetts Gardens

Another National Trust property, Emmetts Garden was open farmland until 1860 when an Edwardian house was built on the estate. The name "Emmett" is a local word for "ant" and the area was previously covered by large anthills. The gardens themselves were laid out between 1893 and 1895. There are various areas, including a rock garden, a rose garden, playground areas, and paths through a small forest.

Like several areas, there are grazing animals although these sheep were in a separate field. Lucy was a bit interested, however the sheep wasn't interested in being herded.
