Our Blog - CaniPaddle Session #3

As you can tell, this year we did quite a few sessions of CaniPaddle and both of us are getting more comfortable on the paddle board. We are still at the same lake, since it seems to be the only one in the area that isn't closed to swimming due to toxic bacteria. I heard the other day on the news that a large number of the beaches along the Atlantic coast near Biarritz are closed due to a high concentration of toxic microalgae, which caused panic and the closure of several beaches on the Basque coast in 2021. This lake was still safe for swimming during this session, which our puppy-school confirmed by calling the City Hall of the town. Mind you ... as I am typing this blog, the website of the city hall of the town says that swimming is now forbidden due to the quality of the water, so perhaps this will end up being our last CaniPaddle session of the summer.

Then for the very first time, I tried to actually stand up on the paddle board. Not only was it my first time, but I had to be worried about Lucy moving and throwing off my balance. I have to admit, I wasn't the most graceful person trying to stand up, but I was able to standup without falling into the water and without Lucy getting totally freaked out and jumping off!
